Inside St Patrick's a five storey high space
features chancel walls with floor to ceiling paintings
by the famous Victorian decorators Clayton and
Bell, a pulpit designed by Gilbert Scott and stained
glass windows by Gibbs and William Butterfield.
A major re-ordering, which received a Sussex Heritage
Award, has transformed this Grade 2 listed city-centre
church into a 40 bed hostel and night shelter
for the homeless, and re-ordered church. The centre
was opened by the Queen in 2001 and was also featured
in the BBC TV Series 'Father Sharpe's Ark'.
