Schemes at The National Centre for Young People with Epilepsy (NCYPE) and Bower Grove School, a behavioural, emotional and social difficulty (BESD) school show how a well designed environment can enhance a child’s learning. Good design helps teachers and children to communicate. Furniture, fittings and equipment is used to support the learning styles, and specialist resources are easily accessible. To maximise access our designs focus on stimulating sensory awareness through the creative use of colour, light, sound, and texture.
