A joint venture between Liberty Property Trust UK Ltd and Kent County Council’s Property Group, the two-form entry school was designed to be developed in three stages. Eco-friendly features include high insulation values, breathable exterior skin, solar shading and natural ventilation. The school is centred on a ‘street’ running north to south linking the reception and junior area with the library, main hall and resource areas. A steel "tree", with glazed atrium, supports the main roof structure. Classrooms have direct access to the external play/teaching areas.
