The building is constructed from a bespoke, sustainable, glulaminated frame. Above London stock brick plinths, untreated Larch cladding is used to harmonise with the surrounding parkland. Wide eaves protect the wall fabric below and reduce summer solar gain problems. The principal covered play areas are located at the southern and eastern curved ends of the building. Another covered play area is sited outside the main hall under a glazed canopy which interconnects the classrooms externally.
