In 2001 Hillview achieved Performing Arts College status which prompted a major redevelopment of the site to ensure a high quality of teaching across all curriculum areas. The project involved the design of a state of the art theatre, new science, art and languages facilities, an IT suite, and a library, plus a new school entrance, staff base, administration hub, and canteen.
