Planning permission was received from Lewisham Council in Summer 2003 and construction took place during 2004 for completion in time for the start of the spring term 2005. The 2-storey building is of simple form with a pitched roof and it contains a variety of teaching rooms and practice rooms together with all the usual ancillary accommodation. A restrained palette of materials has been employed; brick, render and fibre cement panels for the walls with plain clay tiles and zinc for the roofs.
