The new St Mary's CE Primary School replaces an
outdated Victorian school. The greenfield site
is elevated and on the fringes of Lamberhurst
a strict conservation area. Highly visible above
the village, sensitivity in scale is reflected
in the low building style and a roofscape broken
down into a series of smaller roofs, clad in red
cedar shingles. The new school provides five classrooms
, a hall, library, SEN and non-teaching accommodation
as well as car parking and recreational facilities.
