Kings Hill is a new town which is being created in West Kent on a disused airfield. Local brewer Shepherd Neame commissioned Lee Evans Partnership to design ‘The Spitfire’ public house which was built in advance of the town’s main shopping area, Liberty Square. Using traditional forms and materials the pub is totally modern in concept. Details include a striking corner feature reminiscent of an airfield control tower, which now marks the entrance to the town centre.
