Neville Childhood Epilepsy Centre
LABC South East Building Excellence Award Winner

The Neville Childhood Epilepsy Centre, beat off strong competition to win the LABC
South East Building Excellence Award in the Best Community Development category.
The new centre was designed by Lee Evans Partnership LLP and built by Buxton
Building Contractors Ltd for The National Centre for Young People with Epilepsy
(NCYPE) in Lingfield, Surrey.

The Code for Sustainable Homes replaced EcoHomes in 2007 as the national standard
to be used in the design and construction of new-build residential properties in England.
There are six levels of performance and Level four has recently been adopted by
Housing Associations and Homes & Communities Agency sponsored projects as a
minimum requirement.

Lee Evans Partnership’s project East Clayton Farm has just won the
Independent Living category in the Pinders Healthcare Design Awards 2010.
The pioneering project in Washington, West Sussex, for Lorica Trust is the first
shared ownership scheme in the UK for young people with profound and
multiple disabilities.
Community College Whitstable

The 3 phase project is due to complete in January 2011 and Phase 1 The Creative
School is now finished. It forms the main visitor entrance and its double height is
designed to exhibit students’ work and offers easy access to the performance hall for
community use.

The new Neville Childhood Epilepsy centre has been formally opened by Lord (Geoffrey)
Howe of Aberavon CH QC . The development on the National Centre for Young People
with Epilepsy (NCYPE)’s campus at Lingfield, Surrey, is significant as it is the first purpose-
built childhood epilepsy centre for assessment, treatment and research in the UK and is the
only specialist facility of its kind.
Dulwich College Preparatory School Annexe Refurbishment completed

Lee Evans Partnership has just completed a major three phase refurbishment of The
Annexe at Dulwich College Preparatory School in London. The two-storey Annexe is a
self-contained section of the school catering for 160 pupils aged between 5 and 7 years of
age.

Lee Evans Partnership has maintained its position for three years in a row as one of
the top 100 architects in the UK according to Building magazine. In its annual state-of-
the-nation review released this month the magazine ranked the Practice as 82nd, a
four place improvement on its last year’s position.
East Clayton Farm: a unique shared ownership housing scheme

Working with client Lorica Trust, Lee Evans Partnership has just completed the
conversion of East Clayton Farm, West Sussex, into the first shared ownership
housing scheme in the country for young people with profound and multiple
disabilities. What makes the development unique is that it is part of a project with a
much wider social remit which seeks to create a thriving and sustainable community in
its own right.
Nick Lee Evans awarded Downland Prize 2009 for Community

Lee Evans Partnership’s Managing Partner, Nick Lee Evans, was among the five winners
of the Downland Prize 2009 which were announced on Tuesday, 22 September at a
reception held at the RIBA’s Headquarters. The winners were selected from 95 entries
submitted by architects from across the south and the south east regions of England.
Pioneering dry flooring system at St Mary’s, Broadwater

The re-ordering of this Medieval Grade I listed church is significant as it is the first time
an insulated and heated stone floor has been installed in an English church without a
concrete sub floor. It also demonstrates how tried and tested technologies from
different industry sectors can be combined to create a highly effective bespoke system.
Tuelon Church highly commended

The recent re-ordering carried out by Lee Evans Partnership LLP at St Margaret’s
Angmering, Sussex has been Highly Commended in The Sussex Heritage Trust
Awards 2009. The certificate was presented to Churchwarden, Richard Hance at a
ceremony on Thursday 9th July at Farbridge, Preston Farm near Chichester.

parts dating back to medieval times. In the 1850s, Samuel Sanders Tuelon, the renown
