This social housing prototype, for two semi-detached 'affordable' 2-storey, 2-bedroom dwellings achieves the coveted BRE Ecohomes rating of 'excellent' and meets 'Lifetime Homes' standards. The building provides high insulation standards with low energy use, and insulation levels in the region of 15% beyond the requirements of the Building Regulations. The timber framed homes use more than 75% of timber from a FSC source and the majority of materials chosen achieve a BRE green guide 'A' rating.
