Woody’s Bar ready to welcome Freshers
Thursday 13th September saw the official opening of the new ‘Woody’s’ Student Union bar at the University of Kent.
Located on the edge of the thriving Park Wood student accommodation area of their Canterbury campus, the new three-storey structure provides a large bar/restaurant over two floors, with external seating areas overlooking woodland. The building also accommodates two large dance studios, a spacious study hub and student shop providing essentials for student living.
The building is a steel frame/SIPS construction – leading to a speedy build – with the building enveloped with larch cladding, giving appreciation to its woodland location.
Thanks to the hard work of Jenner Contractors, the building has been completed on budget and on time to welcome the newest members of the University of Kent family for the start of Freshers’ Week.
